Our philosophy is to breed healthy mentally-stable and beautiful Abyssinians

There is an on going health program within SVERAK/FiFe  to prevent PRA and PK deficiency in this breed, which has reduced the number of cats carrying this type of genes. PRA stands for hereditary degeneration of the retina that leads to blindness is almost non excisting now due to the health programmes and ongoing research.

PK deficiency,  when there is a deficiency  of enzyme that causes the red bloodcells to funktion porperly. With a deviation the lifespan of the red bloodcells is shortened which results in anemia. 

PK and PRA tests are registered with SVERAK and are visible on their website. As a breeder, it is important be awere of this and breed responsibly
